Internships and Federal Work Study

An internship at the SJDC empowers students to integrate knowledge and theory learned through their curriculum with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. A typical internship at the SJDC lasts one semester or three months. As a non-profit organization, all internships are part time and non-paid. The internship may be part of an educational program and carefully monitored and evaluated for academic credit, or the internship can be part of a learning plan that a student develops individually without receiving credit. An important element that distinguishes an SJDC internship from a short-term job or volunteer work with the SJDC is that an intentional “learning plan” is structured into the experience. Federal Work Study (FWS) is through Rowan University only, and the student receives all the same benefits of an intern, however, the term typically lasts longer than a semester or three month. The following Internship and Federal Work Study opportunities are available.
